The tree, as a biblical symbol of good and evil, obedience and disobedience, is evoked here to explore the duality of our online existence. In the original garden, the “Tree of Life”* was surrounded by mystery, offering fruits of forbidden wisdom. Similarly, Tree of Life proposes a reflection on how our digital presence and actions, despite being ethereal, have tangible consequences and shape our realities.

This work invites visitors to be part of a virtual ecosystem, where each interaction “engenders life” and contemplation. It thus becomes a testimony to the convergence between the sacred and the profane, between the ancestral and the digital, between creation and observation.

* The “Tree of Life” is represented in the well-known Sephirotic Tree. It comprises ten spiritual emanations from God, through which He created everything that exists. These ten emanations (each individually called a Sefirah, and collectively, Sefirot) form the Tree of Life and are interconnected through 22 paths, each linked to one of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Consequently, it is believed that the study of the Hebrew alphabet leads to an understanding of Kabbalah, and thus, Enlightenment. The detailed development of this tree can be appreciated in Kabbalistic texts like the Sefer Yetzirah. This is a profound compendium that requires appropriate instruction and scholarly guidance.

Árbol de la vida representa la correlación de lo individual y lo colectivo en el ciberespacio. En este contexto digital, cada usuario contribuye al crecimiento y desarrollo de un árbol, reflejando la singularidad de cada huella digital que lo visita.

El árbol, como un símbolo bíblico del bien y el mal, de la obediencia y desobediencia, es evocado aquí para explorar la dualidad de nuestra existencia en línea. En el jardín original, el «Árbol de la Vida»* estaba rodeado de misterio, ofreciendo frutas de sabiduría prohibida. De manera similar, Árbol de la vida propone una reflexión sobre cómo nuestra presencia y acciones digitales, a pesar de ser etéreas, tienen consecuencias tangibles y moldean nuestras realidades.

* El Árbol de la vida se representa en el conocido árbol sefirótico. El mismo se compone de diez emanaciones espirituales por parte de Dios, a través de las cuales dio origen a todo lo existente. Estas diez emanaciones (llamadas cada una de manera individual sefirá, y en conjunto, sefirot), para formar el Árbol de la Vida se intercomunican a través de 22 senderos, cada uno ligado a cada una de las 22 letras del alfabeto hebreo. Por lo tanto se cree que del estudio del alfabeto hebreo desciende el conocimiento posterior de la cábala y, por lo tanto, la Iluminación. Es posible apreciar el detalle del desarrollo de este árbol, en los libros cabalísticos como el Sefer Yetzirá. Se trata de un compendio muy profundo que requiere instrucción adecuada y una guía erudita.
